The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has announced that it will require the use of a new biosketch format for any grant applications due on or after Jan. 25.
The official notice can be seen here.
Significant changes to the format include:
- The page limit is extended from four to five pages
- The “Personal Statement” section now requests highlighting up to four publications in addition to training, technical expertise, and work with collaborators.
- A new “Contribution to Science” section replaces the former “Selected Peer-Reviewed Publications” section, where researchers need to describe up to five of their most significant contributions to science.
- The “Contribution to Science” section can provide a URL link to the researcher’s published works as found in a publicly available digital database.
