Aileen Warren, new HR director, starts today

Aileen Warren begins work today as the new assistant vice chancellor for business and finance and director of human resources for UNMC.

Warren has been a vice president of human resources at First Data since 2001, and previously worked at WorldCom and First National Bank of Omaha.

Warren replaces John Russell, who served as UNMC’s director of human resources for 14 years. As HR director, she oversees employee benefits, the Center for Healthy Living, the Child Development Center, employee relations/organizational development, the faculty/employee assistance program and staffing/compensation/records and HR information technology.

“Aileen Warren is a consummate human resources professional,” said Don Leuenberger, vice chancellor of business and finance. “We are very excited to have her here at UNMC, and I look forward to working with her.”

Warren has a master’s degree in social work and a PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification. She is a member of several community boards and professional organizations.
