UNMC’s student information system, MyRecords, is getting a new look.
The system, informally known as “PeopleSoft,” will go live for students, faculty and advisors before the end of the month. (The MyRecords system for staff will not change at this time.)
“The purpose of the new look is to enhance the user experience and centralize information,” said Cody Phillips, functional lead of the committee that oversaw the redesign of the site.
“Right now, it’s primarily used by students to edit enrollment information and view account information, but they cannot access electronic forms for processing,” he said.
The new system will centrally locate all information, with links to forms or pages in student accounts, academic records, financial aid and other useful sites.
“From the new page, the student can access all points of information,” Phillips said.
The committee has been meeting on the proposed redesign weekly since April. The decision to make changes to MyRecords was made in response to student feedback.
The site also will be tied into an electronic transcript ordering system that students can access from the dashboard. The system will allow students to order electronic as well as paper transcripts, which Phillips said was a point of emphasis for students.
“Now transcripts can be sent electronically or mailed, so students can get the information out more quickly,” he said.
