UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., will be delivering a lecture focusing on the future of graduate medical education Oct. 15 at the UNMC Department of Surgery grand rounds.
The title of his talk: “Transforming Residency Education.”
Graduate medical education is facing many challenges and is likely to undergo significant changes over the next few years.
Several entities, public and private, elected and non-elected, financial and non-financial will play a key role in the transformation of graduate medical education. The interplay of all these complex factors will be crucial to charter the course of graduate medical education for the next century.
Dr. Gold has played a significant role in shaping graduate medical education for the nation. He serves on the board of directors of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education Board of Directors and has served as the chair of the American Medical Association Council of Medical Education.
The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. Oct. 15 in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater, Room 3010. It is open for everyone on the campus to attend.
