Progress is being made in the search for a new chair for the UNMC Department of Internal Medicine.
“The search is going well,” said Carl Smith, M.D., chair of the 13-member search committee. “We have completed the initial round of interviews, and the search committee will meet very soon to provide a comprehensive review of each visit.
“This search is vital to the success of our academic health system, and I’m confident that we will fill it with a superb candidate.”
With more than 180 physicians and scientists, internal medicine is the largest department within the College of Medicine. The department is organized by disease specialty into 10 divisions.
