Richard Sacra, M.D., the patient being treated for the Ebola virus at The Nebraska Medical Center, poses above with a University of Nebraska shirt while watching the Huskers’ 41-31 victory over the University of Miami Saturday night in this photo taken by Debbie Sacra.
The shirt was a gift from Angela Hewlett, M.D., associate medical director of the Biocontainment Unit and one of the doctors caring for Dr. Sacra.
Wednesday afternoon, Dr. Sacra also enjoyed his first Runza sandwich, a Nebraska fast food staple, after he and his family dined on Omaha steaks from a local steakhouse Tuesday night.
Doctors are still awaiting test results that will show when the Ebola virus is no longer in his bloodstream.
So good to hear that treatment is working and that Dr. Sacra is improving! Thank you to all the staff that are working so hard for Dr. Sacra and ALL the patients here at the Med Center!
Dr. Sacra appears to be doing well, this is wonderful! A smile (and of course that shirt) look good too! Let the healing continue…
Way to go Dr. Sacra …keep getting better !!… and of course…Go Huskers !!
