Ram Mahato, Ph.D.

The College of Pharmacy in June hosted a Biopharmaceutical Research and Development Symposium featuring speaker presentations by industry scientists and roundtable discussions with faculty, postdocs and graduate students from UNMC and other local universities. The symposium focused on industry-academic collaboration. Ajit Narang, Ph.D., of Bristol-Myers Squibb, Co., and Ram Mahato, Ph.D., professor and chair of pharmaceutical sciences, served as co-chairs. “There remains significant untapped opportunity in collaborations that can be established between academic scientists, industry practitioners, and government regulators,” Dr. Mahato said. “These interactions strengthen the transformation of science into technology development and commercialization. This was only a first step towards enabling such ties.”
