The 2014 UNMC United Way campaign kicks off Monday, Sept. 15. Here are some facts about this year’s drive.
When: Sept. 15 – Oct. 3
Goal: UNMC has an employee participation goal of 50 percent. For the first year, we will be teaming up with the clinical enterprise aiming for a combined goal of $300,000.
How: For the 10th straight year, UNMC employees can pledge online through an efficient, secure system now using your UNMC eServ (formerly ESS) password.
- Employees on Monday (9/15) will receive an e-mail message sent to their UNMC e-mail accounts.
- Paper pledge cards will be available to UNMC employees who do not have UNMC e-mail accounts.
- Campaign pledges, which can be made through UNMC’s payroll deduction, are automatically withdrawn beginning in January.
- A “no-pledge” option is available online for employees who choose not to donate. If you’re unable to contribute, you are encouraged to access the eWay Web site and submit their “no donation” response to be eligible for the prize drawing that takes place on Oct. 3.
New way to give this year: You can now give by credit card on the online giving site, in addition to payroll deduction, cash, or check.
Contribution options: Employees can direct campaign contributions of $50 or more, which help support hundreds of health and human service programs across the Omaha-Council Bluffs-Bellevue area.
New Incentives for 2014: Pledge by 4 p.m. on Sept. 20 to be eligible for the first weekly prize drawing, which will be held each Friday during the campaign.
- Get rewarded for making the pledge early! All those who pledge a minimum of $20 (that’s only $1.67 a month) by 4 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, will be eligible to win the top prize drawing each week! Exciting new prizes this year include a $100 cash card or Husker football tickets.
- All those who pledge $5 or more by Sept. 26 are invited to a free ice cream sundae event in the Sorrell Center, on the second floor. You must bring your proof of donation. Who doesn’t love free ice cream for a good cause?
Additional prizes will be awarded each week in addition to the top prizes. The earlier you donate, the better chance you have at winning!
