The University of Nebraska Medical Center’s EngAge Wellness program for adults 50 years of age and older is co-hosting a three-part series on how to get organized by downsizing a home, sorting through decades of photos and reducing paperwork.
“Helping Seniors Downsize and Organize to the Right Size,” will be presented by Jen Bartelt, a professional organizer.
The UNMC Olson Center for Women’s Health is co-hosting the series.
Each hour-long class will take place at 4:30 p. m. at the UNMC Home Instead Center for Successful Aging, 730 S. 38th Ave. Cost is $5 for each class or $10 for the series. Registration is required. For more information or questions, call 402-559-6345.
Sept. 9 – Senior Downsizing: Where to Start. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have to move and leave a lifetime of memories behind? The thought can be overwhelming. In this session, find out how to have the conversation, where to start, and what resources are at your fingertips.
Sept. 23 – Walking Down Memory Lane. Taking pictures is easy. For seniors, sorting decades of memories and keeping them organized can be a bit more difficult. If you are struggling to find a way to organize those boxes of photos and prioritize what to keep, this session will help you get started.
Oct. 7 – How Seniors Can Summit Mt. Paper. As a member of the greatest generation, are you overwhelmed by the endless amounts of paper you have accumulated over the years and looking for a better way to deal with it all? This session will help you learn how to effectively manage all of your paper. Not only will you learn how to set up an efficient filing system for important papers, you will be able to find what you want…when you need it!
