A new seminar series aimed at postdoctoral scholars and graduate students will address alternate career paths available to scientists in biomedical fields.

The series opens at noon on Thursday, Sept. 11, in room 1004 of the Durham Research Center, when patent attorney and biologist Robert Netter, Ph.D., J.D., discusses opportunities for scientists within the legal community.
Dr. Netter works at Dann, Dorfman, Herrell, and Skillman, an intellectual property law firm in Philadelphia. He earned his doctorate in cell and molecular biology from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002, and then received his law degree from Temple University in 2007. Netter specializes in patent law, primarily serving universities and small to mid-sized biomedical companies.
More sessions are planned, and further details will be announced when those sessions are finalized.
All seminars are free and open to the public, and refreshments will be provided.
