August 1 – Deadline for College of Medicine’s formal submission of response to Liaison Committee on Medical Education concerning our plans for meeting accreditation standards.

August 1 – Hospital begins 24/7 trauma coverage.

August 5 – UneMed shareholders meeting, 5:30 p.m., TD Ameritrade Park.

August 14-15 – International Student Orientations. Movie night on August 15 in the DRC auditorium (open to everyone but targeted to the international students). Half-day orientations resume on Aug. 18 and 19.

August 17 – All student barbecue, 3 to 6:30 p.m., Scott Student Plaza.

August 21 – Orientation and student fair.

August 22 – College of Medicine Professionalism Ceremony, 2 p.m., Joslyn Art Museum with reception to follow sponsored by College of Medicine Alumni Chapter.

Sept. 5 – Investiture for Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., 10:30 a.m. ceremony at Joslyn Art Museum, Witherspoon Hall; 2:30 p.m. campus reception, Scott Student Plaza.

Sept. 6 – SAHP Professionalism ceremony

Sept. 10 – New Faculty Orientation.

Sept. 10-12 – UNMC hosts “Advancing Rural Primary Care,” a national conference on the effective use of physician assistants.

Sept. 15-Oct. 3 – United Way campaign: goal $150,000 & 50 percent participation

Oct. 3 – Student Leadership Forum (organized by Student Senate)

Oct. 14 – Student Life Center groundbreaking event, 3 p.m. Open to campus, but focused on the students.

Oct. 20-24 – Tentative date for Innovation Week

Oct. 27-31 – Spirit Week

Dec. 9 – Chancellor’s Holiday Tea from 2 to 4 p.m.

March 21, 2015 – Ambassador of Hope Gala at the CenturyLink Center. Amy Robach, “Good Morning America” news anchor, will receive the Ambassador of Hope Award
