June 6-7 — The 2014 Cattlemen’s Ball will be hosted by the Hoot Owl Ranch near Harrisburg, Neb., which is near the Wyoming border. Kenny and Misty Stauffer are ranch managers, while Jeff and Kathy May own the ranch.

June 7 – Polo for Patients, an equestrian style fundraiser, will be held at Levi Carter Park. All proceeds will benefit the Patient Assistance Fund, a resource that provides support for basic needs such as transportation, lodging, clothing and food for patients and their families.

June 11 – 10th anniversary of UNMC-China collaborations, 4-6 p.m. (remarks at 5 p.m.), Truhlsen Events Center.

June 12 — The ENT/ ENT Allergy and Audiology Clinic will provide a hearing educational session open to the Omaha community. The session will be at noon at the Village Pointe Medical Office Building, Suite 2700. Seating is limited with light refreshments served. June 20 — Behavioral Health Education Center of Nebraska (BHECN) Annual Conference, 8 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Embassy Suites-La Vista. Conference will explore models for primary care integration happening in Nebraska and across the country. Cost is $99. Register online.

June 26-28 – The UNMC/Children’s Hospital & Medical Center cystic fibrosis team will host a site visit for nine other CF programs around the country, including 90 health care providers. Medical outcomes for patients treated at the UNMC/Children’s program are among the best in the country. The visiting CF teams will be able to observe first-hand the care being delivered at UNMC/Children’s.

July 11 – St. Baldrick's Foundation will hold its annual Shave-a-thon to raise money for pediatric cancer research in the west atrium of the Durham Outpatient Center.

Sept. 5 – Investiture for Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., 10:30 a.m. ceremony at Joslyn Art Museum, Witherspoon Hall; 2:30 p.m. campus reception, Ruth and Bill Scott Student Plaza.
