There is still time to enter the campus “Reuse It” contest hosted by LiveGreen. The volunteer group of med center employees dedicated to sustainability is gathering entries to put to a vote as part of the med center Earth Week celebration April 21-25.
Deadline for entries is Tuesday, April 15, so you have the weekend to get on Pinterest and look up ideas on how to take old items and make them new again. If you need some ideas, try:
- 25 Interesting DIY Ideas to Reuse Old Things
- 20 Creative Ways to Reuse Old Stuff
- 41 Ways to Reuse Your Broken Things
To enter, complete your project and send an email to LiveGreen with a photo and description of your entry by April 15. If you have a “before” photo, please include it as well.
A few contest rules:
- No project is too large or too small.
- You can submit multiple entries.
- Have fun with this.
All submissions will be compiled into a photo album where individuals can vote for their favorites. The entry with the most votes by the end of Earth Week will win a “green” prize. Once again, not money, but the thought is nice.
There will be only one prize per person, so multiple entries from the same person cannot win both first and second place. Also, all entrants will receive a thermal mug good for a discount on coffee at the Nebraska Cafe and a “Energy Advocate” lanyard.
Here’s what I’m planning on making.
Wish me luck!
