Caregiving roles and demands will be the focus of the next Olson Center brown bag luncheon event, to be held from noon to 1 p.m. on April 15 in the UNMC Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater.
There are 44 million Americans providing care for an adult over the age of 50, and caregiving roles and demands are influenced by many factors — and can have positive and negative consequences.
In her presentation, “Caregiving: Truths and Consequences,” Barb Bayer of the UNMC Department of Psychiatry will examine informal (unpaid) caregiving and provide information to assist caregivers to meet the challenges of balancing multiple roles.
Seating is limited; please pre-register by calling the Olson Center at 402-559-6345. Bring your lunch. Simple refreshments will be provided.
The lectures are free, but nursing credit can be obtained for a fee of $10. Payment instructions will be given during preregistration.
The UNMC College of Nursing Continuing Nursing Education is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This activity is provided for 1.0 contact hour under ANCC criteria.
