From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday, the Sorrell Center Clinical Simulation Lab will offer a surgery technology showcase. Vendors will be on hand to display virtual reality surgical trainers, high-fidelity mannequins and other state-of-the-art equipment.
This Is the first year for the event, and five vendors will be attending, showcasing at least two virtual reality training technologies, said Patti Carstens, program manager.
The event is geared toward physicians and UNMC medical students. In addition, faculty and students from Creighton University School of Medicine, the College of St. Mary and other educational institutions and health care operations have been invited to join UNMC students and physicians at the event.
“We are pleased to be able to offer this informative event to our faculty and students,” Carstens said. “We hope that the opportunity to examine this state-of-the-art equipment will be of both educational and practical use for the UNMC community.”
