Hustle for Hunger set for April 11

Hustle for Hunger is a campus walk/run to commemorate the start of UNMC’s annual drive to collect food for the Food Bank of the Heartland. On April 11, runners will tackle a three-and-a-half mile course on the Field Club Trail while walkers will trek 1.5 miles.

For more information on the food drive, see sidebat at right.

When: Registration, followed by quick remarks, starts at 3:30 p.m. and the “Hustle” gets under way at 3:45 p.m. April 11. The food drive runs April 14 through May 2.

Where: The event starts in the Ruth and Bill Scott Student Plaza and the course will begin at the Field Club Trail.

Registration: Please register by emailing the UNMC Events Coordinator. The registration fee is a donation for the food bank. Bring your donated items to the event. All campuses are welcome to participate, as are non-UNMC family and friends.

Also: Water and bananas will be provided by Sodexo for those who participate. Free “Hustle for Hunger” T-shirts will be given to participants who donate five or more items this year. Each participant will receive a “ticket” to be entered for a chance to win a free breakfast for their office. The more people who participate, the greater chance you’ll have at a free breakfast.

Even if you don’t participate, come out and cheer.
