Tell us a bit about what you do here at UNMC.
As a graduate studies office associate, I have to be conversant with the 17 different programs that graduate studies oversees. Aside from day-to-day review of students’ files to ensure each graduate student is on track and up-to-date with their degree requirements, I maintain the graduate studies website and social media accounts. I am enthusiastic and proud to be a part of the changes taking place in the graduate studies office. We are working on the implementation of Seguidor, a graduate studies student information system, and are in the process of planning the first convocation ceremony for graduate studies. I am also a member of the UNMC Web Advisory Group, which is working on a larger project to move UNMC’s website to a new content management system.
“Working together” is one of UNMC’s brand values. Tell us of a time you witnessed an example of people working together at UNMC.
Prior to my current position, I worked in UNMC’s student services office. One of the main tasks carried out by the office is commencement. There is an array of details that go into commencement and without a high level of teamwork, commencement would not be such a prestigious event. Barbara Breazeale is vital to the success of commencement and does a fantastic job of bringing staff from across the UNMC campus together to send UNMC students off on a high note.
