UNMC employees are invited to preview the Joslyn Art Museum’s latest exhibit, “Poseidon and the Sea: Myth, Cult and Daily Life,” as part of a free member’s event on Saturday, Feb. 8.
What: “Poseidon and the Sea” explores each of the Greek sea god’s dominions through more than 100 works of Greek, Etruscan and Roman art produced between 800 B.C. and 400 A.D. Visitors will see striking pottery alongside sculptures in terracotta marble and precious metals, as well as extraordinary examples of ancient glass, mosaics, carved gems and coins.
When: 5:30 to 8 p.m. The night starts with an exhibition overview by representatives of the Tampa Museum of Art in the Witherspoon Concert Hall. An exhibition viewing follows. Complimentary light hors d’oeuvres and cash bar available in the Pavilion Galleries and ConAgra Foods Atrium.
Where: Joslyn Art Museum, 2200 Dodge St. During the preview the museum gift shop and cafe will be open for any food or gift purchases.

The event is offered through the Passport Partners program, which provides free museum admission for medical center employees, students, and their immediate family with a valid identification badge, while also offering lectures, workshops and other events on the medical center campus.
