UNMC’s Ira Combs to speak at Martin Luther King Jr. event

The annual Martin Luther King Jr. event will be held today from noon to 1 p.m. in lower Storz Pavilion. It will feature a keynote address by Ira Combs, community nurse coordinator, UNMC College of Public Health, community health advocate and recipient of the “Champions of Change” Award from the White House.

Those unable to attend can watch via a live stream feed available by clicking here beginning at 11:50 a.m.

Combs speech is titled “King, Health Care and his Letter from Birmingham Jail.” Musical accompaniment will be provided by Omaha keyboardist Nate Asad and drummer Billy Foeman Quartey.
