Safety survey seeking response from clinical staff

Beginning today, clinical staff have the opportunity to share feedback via the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Patient Safety Culture Survey.

Clinical staff includes RNs, LPNs, clerk techs, unit clerks, Pharm.D., respiratory therapists, radiology staff, laboratory staff, PAs, APRNs and physicians.

The AHRQ is an agency within the Department of Health and Human Services that strives to improve the quality, safety, efficiency and effectiveness of health care for all Americans. Survey questions cover the subjects of safety, incidents, communication and how well employees work together as a team. Survey results will be used to help guide future patient safety programs and improvements.

The survey will be available through Jan. 19. A goal has been set for 80 percent participation from clinical staff.

Results from the AHRQ survey provide baseline data for the Surgical Unit-Based Safety Program (SUSP).
