Jan. 10-11 – UNMC Skate-a-thon for Parkinson’s – a 24-hour ice skating fund raising event for Parkinson’s research at UNMC at the UNMC Ice Rink.
Jan. 20 – Expected date when the office of the vice chancellor for research expects to finalize its list of Distinguished Scientists.
Jan. 24 – Board of Regents meeting.
Feb. 20 – Board of Regents visit UNMC.
March 21 – Board of Regents meeting.
April 24-27 – Nebraska Science Festival. Adam Savage, host of “Mythbusters” on the Discovery Channel, will make a presentation open to the public at 7:30 p.m., April 25, at the Joslyn Art Museum’s Witherspoon Concert Hall. The presentation is free, but you must have a ticket to attend. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis beginning Jan. 25 at the Joslyn Art Museum.
June 6-7 — The 2014 Cattlemen’s Ball will be hosted by the Hoot Owl Ranch near Harrisburg, Neb., which is near the Wyoming border. Kenny and Misty Stauffer are ranch managers, while Jeff and Kathy May own the ranch.
