Spirit Week 2013 continues Tuesday with a scavenger hunt.
Leaving from the ice rink at 11 a.m., teams will be given eight locations on campus to find.
At each location, teams will need to complete a “task” (think “The Amazing Race,” but much less difficult).
The scavenger hunt, open to teams of three to five people, will be held from 11 a.m. to noon.
|
Volunteers at each location will sign each team’s sheet to mark the task complete.
Teams will get 45 minutes to complete all eight tasks.
Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place teams.
Prizes will include:
- First: $25 Crave gift card; $50 Mary Kay gift card; $20 Roja, Blue, Plank, Blatt gift card; five free combo meals at Don and Millie’s.
- Second: $25 Barrett’s gift card; $10 Katie’s gift card; $10 Roja, Blue, Plank Blatt gift card; a dozen Brueggers Bagels.
- Third: $25 Black Oak Grill gift card; $10 Katie’s gift card; $10 Roja, Blue, Plank Blatt gift card.
Teams must sign up by noon on Monday.
Send your team name and the names of your team members to the UNMC event coordinator.

What’s your favorite thing about UNMC?
To win a small prize, use the comment section below to tell us your favorite thing about UNMC. A winner will be picked at random at 4 p.m. today.
My favorite thing at UNMC is the ice rink! 🙂
UNMC is large in size and heart, but has a small town home feeling. The opportunity to still learn by going to classes on campus and also to UNO, and your bosses encouraging you to do this is very good.
The diversity in cultures, supported community activities, and interests.
My favorite thing about UNMC is the tuition remission program because it shows how highly education is valued and how willing the University is to support its employee's in furthering their education. My manager has allowed me to re-work my schedule in order to finish my undergraduate degree and pursue my Masters degree next fall. I can't say that a lot of employers would be so flexible.
My favorite thing about UNMC is the sense of community. Everywhere you go you know someone and there's always a friendly smile waiting for you.
Spirit Week 2013!!!
UNMC is all around awesome AND it has the best cytogenetics lab in the country!
