Free health screenings and information will be provided for the entire family at the 12th Annual Men’s Health Day, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 26) at the Urban League Family Resource Center, 30th and Lake streets.
The Men’s Health Day, sponsored by the Center for Reducing Health Disparities, UNMC College of Public Health, will offer free:
- blood pressure checks.
- blood sugar checks
- flu shots for everyone over age of 5.
- HIV and STD screening.
- colon cancer screening.
- prostate exam.
- kidney function screening.
Event organizer Ira Combs, community nurse liaison in UNMC’s Center for Reducing Health Disparities, said, “Men should bring their family, and families should bring their men.”
