Susan Fritz, Ph.D., the University of Nebraska’s interim executive vice president and provost, visited the UNMC campus on Oct. 11.
Dr. Fritz’s tour of the campus included visits to the Biobank, the Biologics Production Facility and the new Truhlsen Eye Institute.
She met with UNMC leaders and faculty, including vice chancellor for academic affairs Dele Davies, M.D.; vice chancellor for external affairs Bob Bartee; Diana Do, M.D., resident program director and vice chair for education in the department of ophthalmology and visual sciences; Phyllis Warkentin, M.D., medical director of the Biologics Production Facility; and campus research leaders such as Jennifer Larsen, M.D., vice chancellor for research; Chris Kratochvil, M.D., associate vice chancellor for clinical research; and Kenneth Bayles, Ph.D., associate vice chancellor for basic research.
Dr. Fritz said she enjoyed the campus visit, which included many “firsts” for her.
“It was my first tour of the Nebraska Biobank facility, the Biologics Production Facility and the Truhlsen Eye Institute,” she said.
“All three represent impressive, strategic investments and incredible potential for health education, treatment and research.”
