Suzie Thorne and Friends will kick off the year's slate of Music as Medicine lunchtime performances on Oct. 10 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. The public is invited to attend and bring a lunch if they wish.
Thorne is a Hastings native who studied piano performance at the University of Colorado at Denver and vocal studies at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Boulder, Colo., and the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Music as Medicine concerts are free and are held on the third Thursday, except for October. Performances begin at noon and run until 1 p.m. in the Durham Outpatient Center first floor atrium. Parking is available in the garage at Emile St. and Durham Research Plaza, which is connected to the Durham Outpatient Center.
The concerts are sponsored by UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center.
