“Improving the Lives of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders: Debunking Myths, Sharing Facts, and Understanding the Influence of Applied Behavior Analysis” will be the next Olson Center brown bag session from noon to 1 p.m. on Oct. 15 in the Eppley Science Hall amphitheater.
Due to the high estimates of 1 in 88 American children, and the dedicated advocacy by parents, autism spectrum disorders have received national attention over the last decade.
Despite the increased awareness, some misinformation persists regarding the potential causes and effective treatment for this disorder.
In the next Olson Center brown bag lunch event, Kevin Luczynski, Ph.D., of the Munroe-Meyer Institute Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders, will discuss intervention and barriers to treatment of autism in Nebraska.
