What: The 2013 Nebraska Medical Center Diabetes Symposium.
When: 7:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Sept. 20.
Where: Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education, Room 1001.
The symposium is focused on an update of the care and treatment of patients with diabetes and the impact of obesity in this patient population. The symposium will cover the new guidelines for individualized treatment of type 2 diabetes and address the role of medical and surgical options for obesity management. In addition, presentations will address how specific needs of this patient population incorporate lifestyle change, nutrition therapy, and medication management into their daily lives.
