UNMC LiveGreen – Caught in the act (of conserving)

From left to right, Marti Obara, Karol Warchola, Connie Winters, Debbie Headley, Steve Kuss and Keith Young were "treated" for their energy-smart efforts.

Representatives from UNMC LiveGreen patrolled the campus last week and presented treats to employees who:

  • Closed shades, blinds and curtains.
  • Lowered lighting levels in work spaces and turned off lights in unoccupied spaces.
  • Turned off and unplugged all electrical equipment not in use.
  • Had fume hood sashes closed.

Check out this photo slideshow to see pictures of employees who “got caught” as they were engaged in energy curtailment behaviors on Tuesday.

If you didn’t get a treat, don’t worry. LiveGreen volunteers may be back out to reward those who help conserve natural resources, save energy, keep the load off the campus energy system, and save money.

And if you did get a treat, keep up the good work. There’s nothing to say you can’t get more.
