Playhouse offers ticket discount to UNMC community

Ablan Roblin and Judy Radcliff star in the Omaha Community Playhouse production of "Sirens."

The Omaha Community Playhouse is offering reduced-price tickets to the students, faculty and staff of UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center.

For the remainder of the run of “Sirens,” tickets will be offered to the med center community for $23, $12 off the regular price.

“Sirens,” by Deborah Zoe Laufer, is the story of Sam, a one-hit-wonder songwriter, who has been married to his original muse, Rose, for 25 years. But lately, Sam’s obsessive hunt for his next hit song has smoldered their romantic spark.

On their anniversary cruise, Sam jumps overboard when he is lured by the most incredible song coming from the sea. While washed ashore, he encounters a video Solitaire-playing Siren who has stepped out of Greek mythology and into modern times. She helps him remember why Rose is, and always has been, the love of his life.

The show runs through Sept. 15, with performances at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.

For reservations to the show, call Lora Kaup, director of sales, at 402-553-4890, ext. 147.
