This week, a new wellness initiative called Fitness Friday will begin.
The monthly events, held on the Scott Student Plaza, will kick off at 3 p.m. Friday with a yoga workshop led by UNMC’s own Jeri Brittin.
Fitness-related activities will be held on two Fridays each month, running between 30 and 60 minutes. Information on future Fitness Fridays will be available at the first event.
“We are excited to bring this new wellness initiative to UNMC employees and students, and the Scott Student Plaza provides a beautiful outdoor venue for our first event,” said Anna Kirshenbaum, UNMC special events associate. “We hope to offer a variety of fitness activities going forward, including sessions such as Zumba, Pilates, free weights or simply a walk around campus.”
