UNMC for the record

UNMC faculty, staff and students may have noticed a shift in site for the trailer that formerly housed a thrift shop. The trailer was moved Tuesday morning at 5 a.m. from its position on the east side of 42nd Street down to Parking Lot 17 and will be used as a construction trailer for the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center project. Moving the trailer will allow needed room for crews working on the Lot 4 demolition.

Steve Dixon, D.V.M., director, comparative medicine, has been elected council member emeritus for the Executive Committee of the Association for Assessment and Accreditation for Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC). From 2001-2013, Dr. Dixon served as a member of AAALAC’s Council on Accreditation, which is responsible for accrediting animal care and use programs for research, teaching and testing. “For the AAALAC to ask Dr. Dixon to stay on as an emeritus member, even though his time is up, shows how our comparative medicine facility is run by a national leader,” said Jennifer Larsen, M.D., vice chancellor for research.
