Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today for Barbara Anne Wharton McCabe, Ph.D., a longtime faculty member at the UNMC College of Nursing Lincoln Division.
Dr. McCabe passed away July 26 at her home in Lincoln at the age of 69. She was associated with the UNMC College of Nursing as a faculty member for more than 20 years.
“Barb was passionate about gerontological nursing for graduate and undergraduate students,” said Christie Campbell-Grossman, Ph.D., interim assistant dean of the College of Nursing.
“She was instrumental in the establishment of the health clinic at the Lincoln Senior Center which continues to serve the Lincoln community. She touched the lives of many faculty and students in Lincoln and across the state. She will be missed,” Dr. Campbell-Grossman said.
The Lincoln Journal Star reports that services will be held at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 6001 A St. in Lincoln, and that in lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the church or to the Lincoln Scottish Rite Preservation Foundation, 332 S. Centennial Mall, Lincoln, 68508.
