Each Thursday, we randomly feature a medical center employee. This week, we learn about Keri Greenwald, office associate for the executive associate and assistant deans at the UNMC College of Dentistry.

  • Name: Keri Greenwald
  • Hometown: Nebraska City
  • No. of years at UNMC: 7 years

Tell us a bit about what you do here at UNMC.

I work in the office of academic affairs and support the executive associate dean and assistant dean for student affairs. The best part of my job is working with our excellent students.

Commitment to excellence is one of UNMC’s brand values. Tell us of a time you witnessed a person or group committed to excellence at UNMC.

The College of Dentistry conducts dental SHARING clinics four times a year. There is a defined process in place that allows us to offer free dental services to those in need. I am amazed each and every time our entryway and waiting room areas are filled with people in our community who have no other means of relief for their dental needs. Our students, staff and faculty work tirelessly and treat all individuals with respect and dignity. It is humbling to witness, and I am proud to say that I am an employee of the College of Dentistry.

What is your favorite summer activity?
Being outdoors with my friends and family, enjoying a beautiful summer day — whether it’s relaxing at the pool, going on a long bike ride or organizing a cookout.

List three things people may not know about you.

  • I used to work for an assisted living facility in Lincoln for several years, and I am passionate about the care and overall well-being of senior citizens;
  • I enjoy landscaping and learning as much as I can about perennials and which do best in our climate. Friends often ask for advice in designing their gardens, and I love to give it; and
  • I grew up on a farm in Nebraska City and always envied my “city friends.” Now when looking back, I didn’t realize at the time how great I had it to be able to live on such a beautiful and spacious farm.
