Retirement reception
The campus community is invited to a retirement reception today to celebrate the careers of Myrna Newland, M.D., a professor in the department of anesthesiology, and Nancy Woelfl, Ph.D., director and professor, McGoogan Library of Medicine.
The tea runs from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Linder Reading Room on the second floor of the Michael F. Sorrell Center for Health Science Education. Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D., will make remarks at 3 p.m.
Music as Medicine
Omaha’s Burt Street Individuals will perform today at UNMC as part of the Music as Medicine concert series.

The Burt Street Individuals’ performance will be from noon to 1 p.m. in the Durham Outpatient Center West Atrium.
Fontenelle Forest membership drive
From 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. today, Fontenelle Forest will host a membership table in the alumni commons area on the second floor of the Sorrell Center.
Membership representative Joan Soverns will highlight membership benefits and promote the $5 discount for UNMC employees through the current corporate membership drive.
There also will be an informational table with displays and brochures about the mission of Fontenelle Forest, a private non-profit nature preserve.
