Employee forum to cover groundbreakings, raises, other issues

Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D.

UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D., will speak at two on-campus employee forums on June 10.

The forums will be at:

  • 9 a.m. in the Sorrell Center, Room 3002, Paustian Amphitheater, and
  • Noon in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater.

Dr. Maurer will review clinical integration and discuss the UNMC budget, including the University of Nebraska’s contract with the governor regarding tuition increases; employee raises and the salary pool; and the groundbreakings of the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center and College of Pharmacy, as well as the opening of the Stanley M. Truhlsen Eye Institute.

Joining Dr. Maurer will be:

  • John Russell, assistant vice chancellor for human resources, who will discuss the floating holidays/banked holidays/vacation policy;
  • Jo Watkins, benefits specialist, to discuss flexible spending account changes;
  • Brad Britigan, M.D., dean of the College of Medicine, to discuss UNMC’s ongoing partnership and relationship with the VA medical center.
