We have heard how exercise can help us in the fight against high blood pressure, heart disease and weight gain, but what about our brain? Can exercise protect our brain against dementia, mood disorders and stress?
The next Olson Brown Bag from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, in the UNMC Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater, will explore these questions.
Physical therapist Adrienne Connor of The Nebraska Medical Center will discuss how the brain reacts to exercise and what types of exercise are most effective for the brain.
Seating is limited; please preregister by calling the Olson Center at 559-6345.
Bring your lunch. Simple refreshments will be provided.
Olson Center Brown Bag lectures are free. However, nursing credit is available for a cost of $10. Payment instructions will be given when you preregister.
