Culture Fest – the annual celebration of food, fun and exhibits which represent the diversity of UNMC and its employees – will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, at the Sorrell Center’s Truhlsen Campus Events Center.
Culture Fest celebrates the culture and diversity on the UNMC campus, featuring ethnic foods from several local vendors, local exhibits, live entertainment and – new this year – prizes.
“Culture Fest is always popular and well-attended,” said Linda Cunningham, the event’s director. “People enjoy the food and the entertainment. But more importantly, it’s a chance to acknowledge and celebrate the diversity that enhances and strengthens the UNMC community as a whole.”
Entertainers for this year’s event will include Joey Gulizia, the International Folk Dancers, the Cowboy Up! Band and Michael Walker. Foods featured include German, Italian, American, Indian, Cuban, Moroccan and more.
Culture Fest is the culmination of the activities from the Diversity Lectures and Cultural Arts Series.
