David Oupicky, Ph.D., has been named professor and co-director of the Center for Drug Delivery and Nanomedicine in the UNMC College of Pharmacy, and will hold the Parke-Davis Endowed Chair. He assumed his role March 1.

He has 67 peer-reviewed publications, has contributed authorship of nine book chapters and held membership on three National Institutes of Health review panels. He has an active, NIH-funded research program, which he will transfer to the COP.
Dr. Oupicky’s research focuses on the synthesis and evaluation of stimulus-responsive polymers and nanomaterials for drug and nucleic acid delivery.
He earned his Ph.D. in macromolecular chemistry from the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, and is a former pharmacy teacher of the year at Wayne State.
Dr. Oupicky will share CDDN co-director duties with Tatiana Bronich, Ph.D., professor of pharmaceutical sciences in the College of Pharmacy.
