“I’m Proud To Play A Part” campaign begins this week

Goal is to raise $250,000 in employee contributions

The first ever employee contribution initiative involving UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center, UNMC Physicians and Bellevue Medical Center was launched this week.

Called “I’m Proud To Play A Part,” the initiative hopes to raise $250,000 in employee support during March for the new Ambulatory Care Center and Cancer Center Campus.

Members of the UNMC Chancellor’s Council and The Nebraska Medical Center Operations Council already have committed more than $93,000.

While attaining the $250,000 goal is important, employee participation is the top priority.

Employees can participate through outright gifts, payroll deduction or purchasing an “I’m Proud To Play A Part” T-shirt.

Articles in employee newsletters and emails will provide more details over the next four weeks. In addition, a video has been developed which will highlight several employees who will share their reasons for participating in the campaign.

“As employees, we are all proud of our organization,” said UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D. “This is the time to show that pride. These new facilities represent a quantum difference in how care will be delivered. We hope you will consider participating.”
