Clinical Trial Master Matrix Version 3.0 available March 1

The Clinical Trial Master Matrix (CTMM) recently received a face-lift.

The changes to Version 3.0 were made to:

  • Accommodate the migration to One Chart. As a result, coordinators and study build personnel no longer need to complete the “Research Study Request” form.
  • Consolidate the study information into one workbook, which enhances functionality and increases efficiency.

What is the CTMM?

The CTMM is an Excel spreadsheet workbook that records protocol-specific scheduling of research-related procedures/treatments and details of how these procedures/treatments will be billed at each visit. The document serves as a resource for coordinators, hospital and professional fee billers and coders who need accurate information regarding allowed costs on research studies.

The CTMM also is used as the foundation to conduct insurance Coverage Analysis (CA) on research studies. In fact, research studies that include clinical care activities conducted at The Nebraska Medical Center, UNMC and/or UNMC Physicians clinics or facilities, regardless of the funding source, require a CTMM.

When does the change take place?

The Automated Matrix Workbook Version 3.0 will replace the Automated Matrix Workbook Version 2.0 on the NHSSecure drive in the Clinical Trials folder on March 1 and should be used from that point forward. Call Grace Videtich (559-7421) or Katie Penas (552-6601) with questions.
