Celebrate the Chinese New Year, Year of the Snake, at UNMC’s first-ever Chinese Cultural Fair! Join us Friday, Feb. 8, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Durham Research Center Commons.
UNMC faculty, staff and students will have the opportunity to taste traditional Chinese tea and food from many area Chinese restaurants.
Other attractions include:
- Dumpling-making – attendees will learn how to make dumplings
- Art (Chinese calligraphy/name writing and paper cutting) – attendees can have their names written in Chinese characters and also can learn how to do Chinese paper cutting.
- Games (Jianzi and Chopsticks)
- Performances (starting at 3:45 p.m.)
There also will be displays of traditional Chinese opera masks, fans, Chinese knots, silk scarves, calligraphy and embroidery. Sign up for door prizes.
The event is coordinated by the Asia Pacific Rim Development Program, along with UNMC’s Chinese Scholarship Council Students and is part of the UNMC Human Resources – Diversity Lectures and Cultural Arts Series.
