The 2012 Cattlemen’s Ball of Nebraska in McCool Junction raised more than $1.4 million – the second highest total in the ball’s 15-year history of providing support to the UNMC Eppley Cancer Center. This marks the third straight year the Cattlemen’s Ball has topped the $1 million mark.

The University of Nebraska Foundation announced that alumni and friends gave $165 million to the University of Nebraska this year, making it the foundation’s third best year for total gifts.

A total of 322 refugees attended the Bridge to Care project’s third annual Refugee Health Fair/Linkage to Care event on Oct. 27. About 75 students and other volunteers participated and provided services such as basic health screenings, vision and dental exams, free flu shots, patient-physician consultations, pharmacy consultations and health education.
