The University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Department of Neurological Sciences will host its first Huntington’s Disease Patient and Caregiver symposium on Friday, Nov. 16, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the DC Centre, 11830 Stonegate Drive in Omaha.
Registration is free and starts at 8 a.m. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Donations to the Huntington’s Disease Research and Education Fund will be accepted.
Topics to be discussed include an overview of Huntington’s disease, management of motor symptoms, cognitive issues, speech, occupational and physical therapy, psychiatric and behavioral issues, genetics and resources available.
Multiple health professionals will speak, including UNMC faculty and Fredy Revilla, M.D., director of movement disorders at the University of Cincinnati.
