On Thursday, Oct. 25, the Durham Museum will present part two of the series titled, “The American Civil War: Where do we go from here?”
What: By July of 1862 it was clear there would be no quick end to the war that raged throughout the country. President Abraham Lincoln was desperate for a significant victory to change the direction of the war and that was difficult to come for the Union. In spite of the growing conflict, major legislation was passed during the second half of the year that impacts the country and shows Lincoln’s true greatness. Employees are invited to join noted scholar Dr. Spencer Davis as he highlights the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War and the pivotal events of 1862.
When: Noon, employees are encouraged to bring their lunch.
Where: Sorrell Center, Room 2014
