Tell us a bit about what you do here at UNMC.

As administrator, I handle various business aspects of the Lincoln campus. For example, I:

  • Create policies and procedures concerning our campus;
  • Serve as the team leader for the support staff;
  • Maintain the financial records for the division;
  • Maintain inventories and monitor the use of supplies;
  • Order student textbooks;
  • Keep our personnel records and several other tasks.

I really enjoy the diversity of the work.

Being a trusted resource is one of UNMC’s brand values. Tell us of a time you witnessed a person or group act as a trusted resource at UNMC.

Whenever there has been public learning programs or continuing education programs, I feel proud that we are sharing from our resources of knowledge from both the teaching mission and the research mission. It is rewarding to be a part of these programs where the upgrading of the information regarding health care or health care procedures directly with the health care providers will positively affect health outcomes in our state.

What is your favorite Fall activity?

Just being outdoors. Fall is my favorite season. I never tire of getting to experience the crispness of the air, the colors of the leaves or the smell of the air. It seems so vibrant.

List three things people may not know about you.

  • I consulted on the building of a long-term care facility and also helped to secure the Certificate of Need to allow for the building of the facility.
  • I served on a Governor’s task force for Long Term Care issues.
  • I was the Missouri State Tractor Rodeo Driving champion.

    OK, I'm going to have to see a citation for that Tractor Rodeo championship before I believe it.
