The first phase of construction to repair the concrete roof of the steam tunnel under the sidewalk starts Monday just north of the east entrance to Wittson Hall.
This work will last two weeks and close the sidewalk going north to Poynter Hall.
Phase two
The second phase will close the sidewalk from Wittson Hall to the corner of 42nd and Emile streets. This phase of construction will last one month and will close the west sidewalk of 42nd Street.
The 42nd Street crossing from the Sorrell Center to Wittson Hall will remain open during both phases of construction.
Alternate routes
Staff and students are urged to be aware of the construction activity and use the south entrance of Bennett Hall to use the crossing at Emile Street or cross at the Wittson Hall crossing and use the east side of 42nd Street to get to Emile Street.
