Before UNMC heads into a busy week of international activity on campus, including several events with its partners in China, take a look at this timeline to see how the medical center’s relationships in China developed.
Students, faculty and physicians from UNMC’s partners in China — as well as from institutions in Japan and Australia — will be on campus next week for the following events:
- A training camp that runs Aug. 6-17, during which UNMC physicians will train Chinese doctors to bring the field of family medicine to the world’s largest nation;
- The International Student Research Forum, which runs Tuesday through Thursday and will bring together more than 60 students from universities in China, Australia, Japan and the U.S. to present their biomedical research; and
- Joint Research Symposium, which also runs Tuesday through Thursday and will feature research presentations and discussions between faculty members from UNMC and from universities in China. The symposium will focus on research into inflammation and disease.
The campus community is invited to attend the opening ceremony for the student forum and research symposium on Tuesday at 7:45 a.m. as well as the closing ceremony on Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
