What is your best memory from your time at UNMC?
My best memory at UMMC was the dedication of the College of Public Health. Listening to the speakers during the dedication gave me goose bumps. Right then and there, I realized that I have the privilege of taking part of something special.
Our four brand values are leadership, commitment to excellence, working together and being a trusted resource. Pick one and tell us a time you witnessed it embodied at UNMC.
Working together is something I see on a daily basis in the College of Public Health. When one member of our team is in a jam or really overwhelmed, I have seen on several occasions that another member will step in and help. I am not afraid to ask other colleagues to help me out if I have too much on my plate and I am always hearing the phase being said in our building, “Let me know if you need any help.”
List three things people may not know about you.
- I play competitive volleyball year round and am watching the girls sand volleyball team at the Olympics. Go U.S.A.!
- I observe the seventh day Sabbath (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset).
- I am deathly afraid of jellyfish.
I share Jenelle's sentiments about the College of Public Health and the atmosphere of "team work" and "community" that we enjoy here. Jenelle especially exemplifies this daily. Our department definitely benefits from her wealth of knowledge and experience, and she is ever patient when answering our questions. She has an "open door" policy and she puts one at ease and ensures us that no question is "dumb". Thank you Jenelle for all you do for us (especially on the 3rd floor). 🙂
