When approving leave requests, supervisors can now add the requests to their own calendars as reminders of their employees’ absences.
Updated functionality now allows additional options, such as the reminder to be placed within the actual leave time on the approver’s calendar. For example:
- If an employee submits leave for 10 a.m. to noon, the leave will appear on the approver’s Outlook calendar for that time.
- If the requestor submits a full day leave without entering a specific time parameter, the leave is placed at the top of the calendar.
- If the requestor submits a full days leave and enters the time parameter — for example, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. — the leave is placed within the approver’s calendar for the day.
- If the requestor submits a multiple day leave request, the leave is placed at the top of the approver’s calendar during that span.
The designated times will be shown as “free” on the approver’s calendar, which means it will not block out that time as unavailable.
