What is your best memory from your time at UNMC?
Getting the position with Dr. Howard Fox’s lab was fantastic. … It was my lucky day when I got the call asking me if I wanted to work for pharmacology and experimental neuroscience. It’s been fast forward ever since and thrilling to contribute to the success of such a vibrant team.
Our four brand values are leadership, commitment to excellence, working together and being a trusted resource. Pick one and tell us a time you witnessed it embodied at UNMC.
“Working together” is a brand value I witness every day in the PEN department where we work together with clear goals in mind. There is no better feeling than to know that you’re valued and supported by your managers and co-workers.
List three things people may not know about you.
- I’ve flown on the Concord and have been strapped into the Red Baron bi-plane doing barrel rolls and stalls.
- I have a “Plant ICU” on my windowsill where I take other people’s dying plants and challenge myself to revive them and get them to bloom or at least double in size.
- My son and daughter are both 30-something and each have daughters, making me a grandmother who feels young and energetic but tired at the same time.
Gina, it is such a pleasure to work with you! Your vibrant smile and great attitude are a staple of my every day life here at UNMC! Thanks for all that you do!
I am new in the Information and Resource Coordinator position and am inspired by your fun festival of aerial activities. YOU are absolutely the new wave of young grandmothers that are vibrant.
Thanks for the inspiration. Karen Anderson
